According to statistics from the China Construction Machinery Association on major wheel loader manufacturers, a total of 10,673 wheel loaders were sold in October 2025, marking a year-on-year increase of 27.7%. With this, wheel loader sales have achieved positive year-on-year growth for all ten months of the year, demonstrating exceptionally strong upward momentum!

It is worth noting that the 10,673-unit sales volume set a new record for October over the past 12 years. This also marks the sixth time this year that monthly sales have exceeded 10,000 units—the best performance in nearly five years.

In the domestic market, wheel loader sales reached 5,372 units in October, representing a year-on-year increase of 33.2%, the highest growth rate in the past 21 months. Except for a slight 1% decline in January, domestic wheel loader sales have maintained positive year-on-year growth for all other months this year, with the growth rate continuing to expand in recent months.

In terms of exports, 5,301 wheel loaders were shipped overseas in October, representing a year-on-year increase of 22.6%. Overall, since 2017, overseas sales of wheel loaders have maintained an upward trajectory. Although there have been occasional fluctuations, the overall growth trend remains unchanged. Export performance in the first half of this year was not ideal, but it has improved significantly in the second half.

Electric wheel loaders continued their “explosive” performance, with 2,707 units sold in October—a remarkable 160% year-on-year surge—and achieving over 150% growth for three consecutive months. In the first ten months of this year, sales have doubled year-on-year in eight of those months.

From January to October, cumulative sales of electric wheel loaders have exceeded 24,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 157%. This significantly raises the likelihood of reaching the 30,000-unit milestone for the full year.

By tonnage, 5-ton electric loaders recorded cumulative sales of 6,978 units this year. Their market share has dropped sharply from 80.9% last year to 62.6%. In contrast, the share of 6-ton models has surged from 16.1% to 28.9%. However, the combined share of these two segments still fell by 5.4 percentage points, indicating that electric-drive technology is becoming increasingly mature and is now being applied across a wider range of models.

In terms of operating activity, the average monthly working hours of major construction machinery products reached 80.9 hours in October 2025, a year-on-year decrease of 9.03%. However, wheel loaders achieved an average of 98 working hours, a significant increase compared with 82.9 hours last year. The monthly utilization rate of major construction machinery products was 55%, down 10.1 percentage points year-on-year, while wheel loaders recorded a utilization rate of 58.2%, a decline of 5.7 percentage points from last year.

Overall, wheel loaders continue to show upward momentum in both domestic and overseas markets, with growth expected to persist in the coming months. Electric wheel loaders, in particular, are experiencing explosive growth, and their market penetration is expected to rise even further.
